Studies
Sugar-sweetened beverage (SSB) pack analysis
ARK Foundation · IDRC, Canada
We conducted a cross-sectional audit of SSB packaging to assess regulatory compliance and consumer-facing risk across the implementing countries. In consultation with the knowledge partners (India and Sri Lanka), we adopted a standardised definition of SSBs that covers both commercially packaged beverages and relevant traditional or milk-based sweetened drinks, so that the audit fits each country’s context.
I adapted the INFORMAS framework into a digital questionnaire of more than 400 variables and refined it from pilot findings; built automated R workflows, with API integrations, for the data pipeline and quality control; trained 10+ field research assistants and supervised four research interns; developed the project Theory of Change; and benchmarked SSB labelling regulations from 2013 to 2025 against international standards. The shop-shelf survey covered more than 1,500 SSB products across Dhaka District.
I presented findings to national policymakers as one of four study presenters, co-authored the study protocol, and co-authored the policy brief Beyond the Barcode.
Nationally representative household survey
ARK Foundation
I am a core team member planning the survey: collaborating with the Bangladesh Bureau of Statistics on probability sampling, writing the data management plan around QGIS verification of listing data and household randomisation, and developing the KoboToolbox instruments, including climate change and PHQ-9 mental health modules. I am also building a Python Shiny dashboard, deployed with Docker, for live data-quality checks during fieldwork.
EPI immunisation coverage survey, Cox’s Bazar
ARK Foundation, Data Management Assistant · WHO-supported
I managed the data pipeline for a survey of about 26,000 respondents conducted in the Cox’s Bazar camps: merging KoboToolbox exports, applying the validated sampling weights, running high-frequency checks and cluster-level outlier detection in STATA, automating the checks in R, and building interactive Python maps to validate GPS clusters.
Skills for Growth
ARCED Foundation, Research & Data Intern · With University of Minnesota, UC San Diego and the Federal Reserve Bank of Richmond
A three-month internship that ARCED extended by six months. Trained in J-PAL guidelines for survey design, data collection and research ethics, I trained and managed 30+ enumerators, cleaned and standardised 500 manager and 2,000 employee surveys in STATA, and built a translation model in Google AI Studio to turn open-ended responses, mostly in local dialect, from Bangla into English for analysis.
